North Blue Elemental Blend is designed to optimize cannabis health and productivity by combining organic nutrients and beneficial microbes, each chosen for their specific contributions to plant vigor and yield. The blend is tailored for different growth stages with two specialized formulas: (VEG) for vegetative growth and (BLOOM) for flowering.
North Blue Elemental Blend (VEG) – Vegetative Formula
- Contains feather meal as the primary nitrogen source, providing a slow, steady release of nitrogen for sustained vegetative growth and lush foliage. This supports rapid plant establishment and strong stem development.
- Diatomaceous earth (DE) is a natural, non-toxic powder rich in silica that offers several key benefits for cannabis cultivation. It acts as an effective physical insecticide, controlling pests like aphids, spider mites, and thrips by dehydrating them—without harming plants or leaving chemical residues. DE also improves soil by enhancing moisture retention, nutrient availability, and aeration, which supports healthy root development and consistent plant growth. Its high silica content strengthens plant cell walls, making cannabis plants more resilient and stable, which can lead to higher yields and better overall plant health. Safe for people, pets, and the environment, DE aligns perfectly with organic and sustainable growing practices
- Humic acid acts as a natural soil conditioner, improving nutrient uptake and stimulating root development, which is vital for vigorous early growth.
- The microbial consortium—Bacillus subtilis, Trichoderma, and mycorrhizal fungi—works synergistically to protect roots, outcompete harmful pathogens, and significantly increase nutrient and water absorption. These microbes foster a living soil environment, making nutrients more available and supporting overall plant resilience.
- Biochar enhances the blend by improving soil structure, retaining moisture, and providing a habitat for beneficial microbes, all of which contribute to robust, healthy cannabis plants.
North Blue Elemental Blend (BLOOM) – Flowering Formula
- Features bone meal as a key ingredient, supplying phosphorus and calcium. Phosphorus is essential for strong root systems and robust flowering, directly fueling bud development, while calcium fortifies cell walls, helping plants resist stress and maintain structural integrity.
- Humic acid continues to support nutrient uptake and root health during the transition to flowering.
- The same beneficial microbial blend (Bacillus subtilis, Trichoderma, mycorrhizal fungi) remains integral, enhancing nutrient cycling and root protection throughout the bloom phase.
- Biochar maintains soil health by supporting microbial life, improving water retention, and optimizing nutrient availability for peak bud quality and yield.
Synergistic Benefits
Both formulas leverage the synergy between organic nutrients and living microbes to create a resilient, productive soil ecosystem. This approach results in:
- Improved yields and better bud quality
- Enhanced stress resistance and plant vigor
- More efficient nutrient uptake and water use
By matching nutrient sources to the plant’s stage—feather meal for sustained vegetative growth in VEG, bone meal for phosphorus- and calcium-driven flowering in BLOOM—North Blue Elemental Blend ensures cannabis receives precisely what it needs for each phase of development
Application Methods
Dry Amendment (Mix-In/Top-Dress)
- Rate: 1–2 tablespoons (15–30 grams) per gallon of medium.
- How to Apply:
- Mix thoroughly into coco or ProMix before transplanting.
- For established plants, top-dress at the same rate (1–2 tablespoons per gallon of container size), gently working into the top inch of medium and watering in well.
- Frequency:
- Once at transplant or initial potting.
- Optional repeat top-dress after 3–4 weeks during vegetative growth, if needed.
- Discontinue:
- Stop all applications at the first sign of flowering to prevent excess nitrogen in buds.
Slurry/Root Drench Application
- Rate: 1 tablespoon (15 grams) per gallon of water.
- How to Prepare:
- Mix 1 tablespoon of North Blue Elemental Blend into 1 gallon of water.
- Stir thoroughly and let sit for 15–30 minutes to allow nutrients and microbes to activate.
- Stir again before use.
- How to Apply:
- Apply directly to the root zone of each plant, ensuring even saturation of the medium.
- Use enough slurry to moisten the root zone but avoid excessive runoff.
- Frequency:
- Apply once at transplant or at the start of vegetative growth for VEG.
- Transition stage move to BLOOM
- Discontinue:
- Do not use as the VEG drench after the first signs of flowering.
Best Practices
- Always water thoroughly after applying dry amendments or slurry to activate microbial life and ensure nutrient availability.
- Avoid over-application to prevent nutrient burn or excess nitrogen with the VEG.
- Monitor plant health and drainage; ensure pots have adequate drainage holes.
- Discontinue all use at the onset of flowering for optimal bud quality.
Warning: To avoid over-fertilization—especially excess nitrogen in the VEG formula, which can negatively impact flowering and final bud quality—do not use North Blue Elemental Blend as a top-dress or soil amendment past the early flowering stage (VEG). Continued application too late in the cycle can result in leafy, less potent buds and delayed harvest. However BLOOM you can apply up to week 6-8!
