Whole-Plant Garden Fermentation

Mallow Gold is a botanical fermented plant tonic made with whole marshmallow plants and heirloom marigolds from our garden sources. Every batch is inoculated with a diverse garden-derived culture that includes lactic-acid bacteria (LAB), wild yeasts, and naturally occurring fermentation companions.

Our LAB fermentation is made with RAW Amish A2 milk, introducing beneficial lactic-acid bacteria while producing organic acids and enzymes that complement nutrient uptake and healthy soil conditions. Whole marshmallow stems and flowers contribute mucilage, a naturally slippery plant material that helps retain moisture around roots and can foster a favorable environment for microbial colonization.

Combined with fermented marigold material, Mallow Gold is designed as a gentle wetting-agent-style botanical input for living soil, compost-rich media, and foliar routines. The fermentation creates a complex solution of organic acids, soluble plant compounds, microbial metabolites, and botanical sugars to complement a balanced fertility program.

Marigolds are valued companion plants in diverse gardens. Their naturally occurring antioxidants, flavonoids, pigments, and aromatic plant compounds add a botanical layer intended to support plant vigor, nutrient cycling, and an integrated, observation-driven plant-health program.

Plant + Microbe Benefits

Mallow Gold is built for growers who value plant diversity, biologically active media, and gentle fermented inputs. It is not a replacement for complete nutrition; it is a botanical complement to a thoughtful feeding and IPM program.

Mallow Mucilage

Natural Wetting Action

Marshmallow’s naturally mucilaginous plant compounds can help create a wetter, more cohesive solution that supports even foliar coverage and more uniform soil-drench application.

Root-Zone Biology

Microbial Food + Metabolites

Fermented botanical sugars, soluble plant matter, enzymes, and organic acids can complement microbial activity and nutrient cycling in active compost, living soil, and biologically managed media.

Garden Culture

LAB + Wild Yeasts

LAB from RAW Amish A2 milk, wild yeasts, and garden-derived fermentation companions create a diverse fermented botanical extract with naturally occurring metabolites.

Marigold Botanicals

Antioxidants + Flavonoids

Marigolds contribute antioxidant and flavonoid-rich botanical compounds intended to complement normal plant metabolic function and resilient garden performance.

Soil + Root Support

Moisture + Colonization

Mallow mucilage can help retain moisture around the root zone and support conditions favorable to microbial colonization, especially in a well-managed living-soil system.

Integrated Pest Management

Botanical Repellent Layer

Fermented marigold may contribute an aromatic botanical layer to an integrated pest-management strategy. It is not a pesticide and should not replace scouting or targeted controls.

Recommended Stages

Use Mallow Gold during the active portion of the crop cycle, alongside a complete nutrition program. Always begin conservatively and adjust for cultivar response, environmental conditions, media biology, and the rest of the feeding schedule.

Vegetative / Weeks 3–8+

High-Growth Phase

Apply weekly through established vegetative growth to complement foliage development, stem strength, nutrient uptake, and an active root-zone microbial community.

Flowering / Weeks 1–4

Early Flower Support

Apply every 7–10 days during early flowering to complement bud development, resin-focused flower programs, and normal plant immune function. Avoid use after week 4 where excess nitrogen is a concern.

Avoid

Seedlings + Late Flower

Do not use during the seedling stage. Avoid later flowering applications to reduce the chance of excess nitrogen, unwanted foliar residue, or unnecessary inputs during final flower maturation.

Application Guide

Use dechlorinated or filtered water and mix Mallow Gold fresh before each application. Start at half strength for rooted cuttings, sensitive cultivars, or gardens already receiving heavy inputs.

Foliar Spray / 1:500

Weekly Foliar Use

  • Dilute 8 mL, about 1.5 teaspoons, per gallon of water.
  • Apply once weekly in vegetative growth or every 7–10 days in weeks 1–4 of flower.
  • Spray leaves and stems in early morning or near lights-out.
  • Avoid intense lighting, high heat, seedlings, and late flower.
Soil Drench / 1:500

Root-Zone Application

  • Dilute 8 mL, about 1.5 teaspoons, per gallon of water.
  • Apply evenly at the base of established plants.
  • Use weekly in vegetative growth or every 7–10 days in early flower.
  • Adjust frequency to plant response and existing nutrient inputs.
Root Dip / 1:1000

Established Transplants

  • Dilute 4 mL, about 0.75 teaspoon, per gallon of water.
  • Use only on established rooted cuttings or transplants.
  • Briefly dip roots, plugs, or cubes before planting.
  • Do not use on seedlings or soak young roots for extended periods.

Use Responsibly

Do not exceed recommended concentrations. Fermented botanical inputs can contribute to leaf stress, residue, root-zone imbalance, or unwanted microbial activity when over-applied.

Always mix fresh, use clean dechlorinated or filtered water, and test on a small group of plants before broad use. Mallow Gold is a plant tonic and garden-input complement, not a registered pesticide or a substitute for complete fertility, sanitation, scouting, or targeted pest control.
