North Blue Nutrients Mallow Red product package

Red Garden Fermentation

Mallow Red is a whole-plant botanical ferment built from marshmallow, heirloom marigolds, carrots, bull beet leaves, and beets from our heirloom garden sources. The formula brings together mucilage-rich mallow, companion-plant marigold botanicals, mineral-rich beet greens, and root-crop diversity in a complex garden-derived extract.

Each batch is inoculated with our living heirloom garden culture, including lactic-acid bacteria (LAB) supported with RAW Amish A2 milk, wild yeasts, and other naturally occurring fermentation companions. This fermentation produces organic acids, enzymes, soluble plant compounds, botanical sugars, and microbial metabolites intended to complement nutrient uptake and a healthy soil-food-web approach.

Marshmallow stems and flowers contribute naturally occurring mucilage, helping retain moisture near the root zone and supporting conditions favorable to microbial colonization. Carrots and beets add fermentable root-crop material, while bull beet leaves contribute a mineral-rich green-leaf source of potassium, calcium, and magnesium that complements strong stems, balanced growth, and flower-focused nutrition.

Mallow Red is designed as a gentle botanical addition to a complete plant-nutrition plan. Use it to build plant diversity into the media and complement a lively, well-managed rhizosphere rather than relying on a single-input solution.

Plant + Microbe Benefits

Mallow Red pairs diverse garden plants with fermentation biology for growers focused on living soil, compost-rich media, and botanical diversity. It complements complete fertility rather than replacing it.

Mallow Mucilage

Natural Wetting Support

Marshmallow’s naturally mucilaginous plant compounds can help create a wetter solution, supporting even coverage in foliar sprays and more uniform distribution during soil drenches.

Root-Crop Ferment

Sugars + Plant Diversity

Carrot and beet material provides diverse botanical sugars and soluble plant matter that can complement microbial food-web activity in healthy biologically managed media.

Bull Beet Leaf

Mineral-Rich Greens

Bull beet leaves add potassium, calcium, and magnesium to the botanical profile—elements that complement stem strength, balanced growth, and quality-focused flowering programs.

Living Culture

LAB + Wild Yeasts

LAB supported with RAW Amish A2 milk, wild yeasts, enzymes, and garden-derived fermentation companions create a biologically expressive extract with organic acids and microbial metabolites.

Marigold Botanicals

Antioxidants + Flavonoids

Heirloom marigolds contribute antioxidant, flavonoid, pigment, and aromatic botanical compounds intended to complement plant metabolic function and overall garden vigor.

Botanical IPM Support

Aromatic Repellent Layer

Marigold’s aromatic botanical character may contribute a repellent-support layer within an integrated pest-management program. It is not a pesticide or a standalone control.

Recommended Stages

Use Mallow Red through the active-growth portion of the crop cycle alongside a complete fertility program. Begin conservatively, observe plant response, and adjust for cultivar sensitivity, root-zone conditions, and the existing feeding schedule.

Vegetative / Weeks 3–8+

High-Growth Phase

Apply weekly through established vegetative growth to complement foliage production, stem development, nutrient uptake, and an active root-zone microbial community.

Flowering / Weeks 1–4

Early Flower Support

Apply every 7–10 days in early flower to complement bud development, resin-focused flower programs, and normal plant immune function. Avoid use after week 4 where excess nitrogen is a concern.

Avoid

Seedlings + Late Flower

Do not use during the seedling stage. Avoid later flowering applications to reduce the chance of excess nitrogen, unwanted foliar residue, or unnecessary inputs during final flower maturation.

Application Guide

Use dechlorinated or filtered water and mix Mallow Red fresh before every application. Begin at half strength on rooted cuttings, sensitive cultivars, and gardens receiving heavy nutrient inputs.

Foliar Spray / 1:500

Weekly Foliar Use

  • Dilute 8 mL, about 1.5 teaspoons, per gallon of water.
  • Apply once weekly in vegetative growth or every 7–10 days in weeks 1–4 of flower.
  • Spray leaves and stems in early morning or near lights-out.
  • Avoid intense lighting, high heat, seedlings, and late flower.
Soil Drench / 1:500

Root-Zone Feeding

  • Dilute 8 mL, about 1.5 teaspoons, per gallon of water.
  • Apply evenly at the base of established plants.
  • Use weekly in vegetative growth or every 7–10 days in early flower.
  • Adjust application frequency to media conditions and plant response.
Root Dip / 1:1000

Established Transplants

  • Dilute 4 mL, about 0.75 teaspoon, per gallon of water.
  • Use only on established rooted cuttings or transplants.
  • Briefly dip roots, starter plugs, or propagation cubes before planting.
  • Do not use on seedlings or soak young roots for extended periods.

Use Responsibly

Do not exceed recommended concentrations. Over-applying concentrated fermented botanicals can contribute to leaf residue, leaf stress, root-zone imbalance, or unwanted microbial activity.

Always mix fresh, use clean dechlorinated or filtered water, and trial on a small group of plants before wide use. Mallow Red is a botanical plant tonic, not a registered pesticide or a replacement for complete nutrition, sanitation, routine scouting, or targeted pest controls.
